In her book Mein Juist (Mare Verlag), Juist author Sandra Lüpkes, who lived on the island for many years and spent her childhood there, describes her perspective on the North Sea island. However, she says, everyone has their own view. This is mine, as a vacationer to the island for over 20 years.

Hedgehogs suffer due to a lack of insects. If their weight is not appropriate for the winter, they will not wake up in spring. This article lists the inital care, makeshift housing and food for hedgehogs until you can hand them over to a rescue as early as possible or, at least, follow their advice.
